2 Wooden Tops
This month’s CCW demonstrator was Ron Brown. He demonstrated making several items for us, including a scoop, instructions on spatualas, an acorn, and a top. With the North Georgia Folk Festival coming up in a few weeks, I decided it would be a good time to get some practice making tops. They can be easy to demo, can be cranked out quickly with some practice, and supposedly sell well anywhere there are kids. I glued up a few blanks last night to practice on out of a walnut dowel and some cherry. For the first ones I’ve tried in a long time, they turned out pretty well. Now I need to find something that I can use as a chatter tool so that I can give the next ones a little more character!
